Sandy, Utah, December 9, 2020 – Stratus.hr, the premiere PEO for human resources outsourcing in the Intermountain West, was named one of The Salt Lake Tribune’s Top Workplaces for 2020.

“To say I’m proud to be recognized as a Top Workplace is an understatement,” said John Farnsworth, who co-founded Stratus.hr with his wife, Michelyn, in 1999. “This has been an incredibly difficult year for nearly all businesses. Our team has worked their butts off to ensure clients are up-to-speed on all the changing Covid legislation, from emergency paid leave to PPP loans to tax deferrals. For us to receive this honor at a time when employees have had to pivot from their normal work arrangements and work harder than ever, it’s extremely rewarding.”

The Salt Lake Tribune partners with Energage to collect and analyze anonymous employee feedback for the “Top Workplaces” program, which then recognizes companies that excel at organizational health and workplace engagement. “Our managers do a great job at promoting a work/life balance to keep employees happy and engaged,” said Farnsworth, “and we’ve relied on employee feedback to implement programs that have taken us to where we are today.”

Even though it’s a small company, Stratus.hr offers a number of perks and offerings to make it a great place to work. These include event tickets and a wellness program, an occasional onsite massage therapist and company meals, an attractive health plan and company 401(k) match, offsite parties and celebrations, and an Employee-of-the-Month program that leads up to an Employee-of-the-Year who gets an all-expense paid, week-long trip for two to anywhere in the world.

While these perks make an impressive package, it’s the day-in and day-out company culture that keeps employees beaming. “It’s extremely rewarding to work with people who love their job. It’s exactly what we hoped for when we started this business 20+ years ago.”

Stratus.hr was formally recognized as a Salt Lake Tribune Top Workplace at a virtual event held on December 9, 2020.
